DELRAY BEACH, FL (April 16, 2010) – Delray Beach executive and philanthropist Arthur Benjamin, announced today that his non-profit organization, American Dog Rescue (ADR) and the Gail L. & Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation, will be the joint presenting sponsor of the 9th annual Harley Dog Days fundraiser, benefitting PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving), Auxiliary of the Humane Society of Broward County. The event will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the beautiful waterfront estate home of honorary chairs, Ron Picou and Michelle DiMarco, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
According to Melody Saleh, past president of PAWS and Harley Dog Days IX Event Chair, “It’s always great to have an organization or individual step up and be a top sponsor for an event; however, it is even more special when that someone goes above and beyond just writing the check. Arthur Benjamin is a man who loves animals and who, through his individual efforts and through those of American Dog Rescue, has set out to make a difference in this world for others. On behalf of our furry friends at the Humane Society of Broward County, we thank Arthur and American Dog Rescue for making a difference for them.”
This year’s event, dubbed ‘Harley Dog Days…Remembering the Times,’ will be held in remembrance of Bruce Rossmeyer of Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson, and will bring together motorcycle enthusiasts and animal lovers in support of everyone’s four-legged friends. The funds raised from this highly-anticipated event will benefit orphaned and abused animals in the community and help support the Humane Society of Broward County’s Mobile Adoption & Spay/Neuter Unit.
Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and an incredible silent auction, followed by a fabulous dinner, can’t-miss live auction, and most importantly a beautiful tribute to honor the memory of Bruce Rossmeyer. Entertainment will be provided by Fifth Avenue Music and acclaimed dueling piano players of the Mark & Clark Show. For more information or to secure a seat, please visit www.PAWSBroward.com or call (954) 266-6827. General Admission tickets are $200 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also still available.

The Humane Society of Broward County relies on the generosity of our community and companies to fund our operations and programs budget. Income sources are: adoption fees; services such as dog obedience, vaccination clinics, spay/neuter programs; pet boutique sales; fundraising events; grants; general donations and from those people who leave the shelter in their will. Every dollar is carefully spent to help the unwanted animals.
